In the New Edition of “Qatar; Monthly Statistics” Bulletin 21.0% Monthly Increase in Total Registered New Vehicles in March 2023

A monthly increase in total live births, estimated at 4.1% compared to February 2023.
A monthly increase in total number of traffic deaths, with a monthly change rate of 30.8% in March 2023 compared to previous month.
A monthly decrease by 39.4% in total value of real estate sold in March 2023 compared to February 2023.
The Planning and Statistics Authority has released the 111th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin; a series of statistical newsletters released on a monthly basis.  In this issue, we highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during March 2023 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census. 
Among the most prominent changes in this issue is the increase in the general index at a monthly rate of 0.2% compared to February 2023, and at an annual rate of 4.0% (compared to March 2022). Garments and shoes registered the highest monthly change at a rate of 1.56%, while the issued cash decreased at a monthly rate of 2.0% (compared to February 2023), in addition to a decrease in the general market index (point) by 3.4% (compared to February 2023).
The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.83 million at March 2022 to 3.01 million at March 2023 at an annual rate of change of 6.3%, and it increased monthly by 0.8% (compared to February 2023).
Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2139 live births have been registered during March 2023. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 5.1% comparing to last month. On the other hand, 233 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 9.4% compared to February 2023. 
Moreover, March 2023 witnessed a monthly increase of 18.4% and 36.8% of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates respectively compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 367 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 145 cases.
As for the Social Security statements, reached 77 Million Qatari Riyals in March 2023, for 14323 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly increase of 0.2% for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.6% for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about 705 Billion Qatari Riyals during March 2023, an annual increase of 11.3% compared with March 2022. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for 967 Billion Qatari Riyals during March 2023. The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 0.02% compared to March 2022, when deposits recorded approximately 968 Billion Qatari Riyals. 
Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 666 permits during March 2023, recording a monthly increase of 3.4% and an annual decrease of 32.6%.
The total number of registered new vehicles during March 2023 has reached 7091 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 21.0% and showed an annual decrease of 18.8%. 
Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 806 traffic cases were recorded during March 2023, showing a monthly increase of 20.7% and an annual decrease by 0.5%. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 93%, followed by severe injuries by 5%. However, 17 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2% of total traffic accidents cases.
As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 433 thousand, recording a monthly increase of 11.3% (compared to February 2023) and it recorded an annual increase of 183.5% (compared to March 2022). The highest number of visitors was from the Gulf Cooperation Council at 38%. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 47% of the total number of visitors.
