The surveys aim at collecting and providing up-to-date statistical data and information to assist government bodies in decision-making and policy-making:

Foreign Investment Survey

National Planning Council in collaboration with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has conducted Foreign Investment Survey. The objective of the survey, was to cover all major enterprises (private and public) operating in the national economy to estimate the amount of investment in country by economic activity.

Labor Force Survey

In line with Qatar's steady growth in various aspects of economic and social life and the increasing demand for manpower and demand that are of fundamental importance, the Council has decided to implement the Labor Force Survey on a monthly basis throughout the year. Obtain quarterly data on the population according to their different qualitative, social and economic characteristics, and employment and unemployment indicators, which are used as a general indicator of the economic performance of the country. The quarterly results reports and the final report of the year are published on the Council's website. The survey was launched monthly for the first time in January 2013, where it was previously implemented one month each year

Household Income and Expenditure Survey

National Planning Council is conducting a sample field survey where the data collection process will continue for a full year starting from October 2017, with the aim of providing very important data that contribute to the national strategic plan for Libya and help in objective determination of economic and social conditions in Qatari society, To closely monitor household and household consumption and consumption patterns, the purchasing power of household income, and the level of high prices, as well as the composition of a basket of purchases for the Qatari consumer. The survey is carried out on a regular basis every five years and is currently being implemented for the sixth time, where it was last implemented in the same period of 2012/2013.

Research and Development Survey

In cooperation with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QFES), the National Planning Council is conducting an annual field survey to measure research and development inputs in the State of Qatar. The survey aims to collect data on the total capital and current expenditure of R & D and R & D personnel data to meet the needs of researchers, planners, policy makers and all relevant R & D entities.

Time Use Survey

The National Planning Council has conducted “Time Use Survey” for the first time in the State of Qatar. The data was gathered for one full year from September 20th, 2012 to September 19th, 2013. The Survey aims primarily at identifying quality of life - or public welfare - in the State of Qatar. It also aims at identifying activities that individuals engaged in, including paid or unpaid business activities, household work, taking care of family members - including children and the elderly - as well as recreational activities such as watching TV, using the Internet and other similar activities.

Global Adult Tobacco Usage (GATS)

The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a global standard for systematically monitoring adult tobacco use (smoking and smokeless) and tracking key tobacco control indicators. GATS is a nationally representative survey, using a consistent and standard protocol across countries including Qatar. GATS enhances countries' capacity to design, implement and evaluate tobacco control programs. It will also assist countries to fulfill their obligations under the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) to generate comparable data within and across countries.

Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS)

The Planning and Statistics Organization carried out a multiple indicator cluster survey for the fourth round MICS4 in 2012 in Qatar, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Health, the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) provided technical support for the implementation of this survey. The survey is the first in Qatar to provide documented information on maternal and child health, child development and some indicators used to monitor the MDGs.

National Stepwise Survey for Chronic Non-communicable Diseases and Risk Factors (STEPwise)

The survey was conducted in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA). Chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases hypertension and diabetes are among the leading causes of death in Qatari society. The survey measures risk factors such as smoking, insufficient fruit and vegetables intake, physical inactivity, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension and diabetes.

Consumer Confidence in Economic Performance Opinion Poll

The overall indicator of consumer confidence in the economic performance of the country is one of the most important indicators that measures the levels of confidence in the economic performance of the country and the degree of confidence toward the policies taken. Therefore, the Council decided to implement the consumer confidence index survey on a monthly basis throughout the year. Annual and Quarterly reports are published in order to obtain Quarterly measures of consumer confidence in the economic performance of the state. The results reports are published on the Council's website. The survey was launched on a monthly basis for the first time in July 2013, and aims to identify consumers' views on Qatar's economic performance, such as prices of goods, services, jobs and overall.

Business Confidence Index Opinion Poll

The business confidence index opinion poll is aimed at the economic establishments in the country in order to identify the views of the business community on the economic performance of their establishments and the main challenges that impede those establishments and then submit them to the competent authorities in the country. In view of the importance of the Qatar Business Confidence Index, the council has undertaken to conduct a quarterly business confidence survey to produce quarterly and quarterly results reports to obtain quarterly business confidence indicators. The results are published on the Council's website. The survey was launched quarterly for the first time in the second quarter of 2014.

The audiences are reluctant to attend football matches at stadiums

National Planning Council, in cooperation with QFA and the Sports Statistics Technical Committee in Qatar, conducted an electronic survey on the reasons behind audience reluctance to attend football matches during the previous football season. The survey tackles seven major themes related to the potential reasons behind the audience reluctance to attend football matches. A number of sub-causes falls under the category of each core theme. The seven major themes are as follows: (personal - organizational - technical - service - climatic - audience - TV broadcast).

The survey aims at measuring the frequency of practicing sports and society's participation of sports activities for individuals.
